I came to yoga hoping it would help me manage my anxiety. Each day I would walk into the studio with my troubles weighing heavy on my mind. As I began moving and breathing, the negative or stressful thoughts would begin to blur into the background. Your Yoga became a sanctuary because for that blissful hour my only concern became not holding my breath.
The physical aspect of yoga is an expressive outlet that makes me feel at home in my body. As a former dancer, I was drawn to the creative movement, but I have continued to practice because of the impact it has on my time spent off my mat. Dedicating an hour each day to my breath and self-care has allowed me to be enter all spaces with a more level mind and a kinder heart.
